CLSA has reported that Retail and IT services industry will drive the demand for commercial real estate in India. They will require 300 Million sft in the next 5 years. It is likely that Tier-1 cities will slow down a bit while demand in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities will grow at a faster.

Residential market might see a small correction in short-medium term but for long term they are still poised to give decent returns. However, residential property prices in cities will see saturation while property prices in SEZs and townships will witness strong demand. In 2005, Bangalore / Bengalooru witnessed absorption of 9.5 million sft of commercial and office real estate, only behind Tokyo [12.33 Million sft] and London [ 9.96 Million sft] beating all the American cities. Bangalore's commercial real estate is the fastest growing space in the world
Most office space additions in 2007 has happened in Outer Ring Road, Sarjapura, Hosur Road, Bellary Road and Electronics City. Together this forms the Bangalore Peripheral Business District. In the Downtown / Primary business district Vijay Mallya's contributions are the highest.
