In addition to entry visas, special permits may be required to certain areas of the India. Areas such as North Eastern Frontier States of Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, border areas of Jammu & Kashmir, certain areas of Uttar Predesh and Rajastan, Union Territories of Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep are out of bound for foreign nationals. If you plan to visit any of these areas, apply for a permit well in advance, at least four weeks in advance at:

The Under Secretary,
Ministry of Home Affairs,
Foreigners Division,
Lok Nayak Bhavan, Khan Market,
New Delhi 110 003

The people of Assam are among the happiest, warmest and most generous I have ever met.

As a boader in ladakh pangong lake is the last destination situated at a height of about 4,250 m (13,900 ft). It is 134 km (83.3 mi) long and extends from India to Tibet. Two thirds of the length of this lake lies in Tibet. The lake is 5 km (3 mi) wide at its broadest point
