Who knows sanskrit?

I wonder how many indians today know sanskrit?

Most Indians aren't fluent in Sanskrit because it's not used nowadays. It's taught in schools but kids forget it when they grow up. However most Indians use elements of Sanskrit everyday in whichever language they speak because most Indian languages derive from Sanskrit. Sanskrit in India is like Latin in Europe. It's an ancient language which is the basis of the current languages.

I learned Sanskrit in high school but I've forgotten most of it :D However I know Hindi and would be glad to teach you egypt :) I would like to relearn Sanskrit one day also.
