Is this promised dual citizenship for real?
What is the philosophy behind this?
Who gains? Who looses?
Any pundits waiting in the wings to enlighten us?

Well the dual citizenship concept seems to be true.Let us see how this impacts all the citizens and who will be benefited.Allthough I think the NRI's will be benefited and this will have a good impact on the economy of the country.

Honeslty, just passing a bill in the parliament is not quite enough. I beleive in order for India to truely reap the benefits of this proposed Act., the govt. will have to make other policy changes will welcome NR's to setup shop back home again.
Currently, a lot of NR's are not overly willing to take a dip in the economic boom in India because there is just too much red tape to deal with when it comes to getting permissions and lisences.. etc. I beleive that needs to be fixed before we can move forward.
just my 2 cents.

your 2 cents are most welcome and yes I also agree with you that red tapism needs to be removed not only for the NRI's issues but also for the over all development and progress of the company.

The US takes forever to process visas if you don't have family members living here...

Dual citizenship is a good thing because it help enlarge the fronteer of india.Did you know that Surinam have 60% of its population who are indian descent?Guyana have 50%, trinidad have 45%.All those people are highly educated and control the economy of those country.Bud india has forgotten them and refuse to help them survive. It is time for india to be more present in the south american continent. Help the indians their, provide more indian immigrant who can settle there, promote indian culture in trinidad, surinam and gyana.

India has not forgotten them Rajivvijar. India didn't know about them. AS soon as they knew about them and their achievements they started to honour them.

just like most of the scientists, they are recognized after they have passed away.

They are recognised when they are living. Now no one will recognise you miqsh, even if you are a scientist. You haven't done anything great. Tell me where will you be recognized if you have done something good.
All the scientists are recognized in India but not in the other world. that's the reason you dont' know about them. Shame on Indians who doens't know about their own achievements. First change yourself then blame the Indian govt.
This is a message to all the Indians. If you didn't know that this thing existed then could you have supported them??? tell me. it is common sense. Try to use it.

hey there i said in general cases. okay india people recognises them. happy. i was saying lots of scientists like mendel and others who have contributed to humanity but have been recognized after he/she passes away. and let me get this straight. i have no grudge or have a wrong impression of indians in the first place. in that case i would have nothing with this forum if it wasn't for my interest in my homeland.huh.

I never said that you didn't have interest in India. why does this little argument make you feel that i am saying that you are not patriotic about India. Arguments happen and me countering something doesn't make you the bad guy.

Think maturely iqbal. Who said that you are not patriotic. Give me a certain word that shows that i said you are not patriotic.
