And to those who have graduated in India and those others who have graduated abroad it would prove valuable help to students considering a university education if they can have first hand info about the pros and cons of studying in India/Abroad.

Please contribute.
Thanks.

good thread.

3 reasons why

1. More hands on approach in teaching with focus on pratical aspect and use of theoractical practises.
2. Better training facilities - no dearth of equipment, labs, etc.. which is important for science faculties.
3. Overall the courses invisions not just educating students but giving them a different prespective to look at things. To come up with ideas and solutions and do empower them to do things differently and better.

3 reason why not

... cant think of any right now

What! Not a single plus point for India!

Well my fair friend, let me tell you a few things which you learn only in India and absolutely nowhere else:

# Plate tectonics of the Indian Himalayas.

#The mating habits of the Bengal tiger.

#Effects of sewage on the marine fauna of the Bay of Bengal.

#Erotic temple art of outer Orissa.

#The migratory paths of the Bald-Headed Indian hyenas.

#The Indian Legal System with selected loopholes.

#Laloo Prasad's Principles and Practice of Panchayat governance.

#Advances in Idli-Dosai making.

#Eye and nose movements in Kathakalli.

#Vedic mathematics by Professor Joshi.

I could go on forever.
And you guys in Toronto think you know everything! :p

No sir... there quite a few pluses.. for india.. not just 3.

Honestly.. i did not want to write some b/s to look good.. instead i want to mention 3 real and practical points...thats sets us (YES.. us) apart from abroad.. so lemme ponder on it for bit.. and i will get back on this one.

I would say that what they teach in India is great. People in Canada dont' have half the knowledge which students have over there.

No one in the world knows about India's great diversity. In Canada I haven't seen any people know that Light is Invisible.

I can say that we as Indians have a better stading on our Mathematics....

as for the technical knowledge, I guess its only the IIT that would make a world marking...

and for IIM's, abroad universities would not conmsider it as a "feather in ur hat" because according to the foreign universities, it offers a 'diploma'...
