Hello,
I am Rajendra Kshirsagar and I am researcher in Advanced Biotechnology
Center (CBA) in Genova, Italy. I have been working here for over three years. I have applied for renewal of the permisso di soggiorno (stay permit) and I
got a reply that I will receive it in February 2008. I have a receipt
which shows that I have applied for the renewal and that I will receive it in
Feb. 2008. I also have all the other documents like insurance etc.
I called the Indian Embassy in Rome and they told me that if I travel to India,
the Indian authorities would not let me return to Italy without the stay
permit. Due to beaureaucracy, the process of renewal of stay permit here has
been going on for more than one year now and I have not been able to return to India during this time.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
