Hi....greetings to all!!
let me introduce myself. i am a final year b.com student of a reputed college in bangalore. the reason why i am writing this post is to find out if there is anything like a student's redressal forum in the bangalore university for college students coming under its purview. i want to know this because, i have seen a lot of injustice done to students in my college by the management. I would not like to disclose the college name yet because i still have a few more months to go untill my education is completed and so i wouldnt want to fall into a soup now.there was an incident where one of our lecturer used to come to class, crack sex jokes, talk to girls using double meaning, etc...when we students tried to inform the head of dept and principal this, we were punished rather than that faculty. besides, i hate to admit, our principal is a liar, he cooks up stories about students and tell their parents, which has no truth in it. there was a ragging incident where he gave TC to 7 students when all of them were innocent but one among them was partly at fault. but the guy who was at fault was later taken into the college without any action and the remaining were given TC. what justice???
all the students are fed up of such atrocities of the college management. but everyone is afraid to voice complaints because they are a powerful bunch. so is there any way, through the university, we can bring an end to such autocratic rule?
thanks

This happens not in India but in other countries too. These high authourities people always press the lower people.

Elder People says that young generation is so hot blooded that always ready to argue or fight with others. Yes, It is right to only some extent. But If we see another aspect then it is very clear, that It is only the todays generation who have courage & always come forward against any misbehave.

Some Elders have their own thinking, they think to protest anything or to stand against anything is not our work, it is the duty of government only.

If talking about ragging I am also not in favour of it. Freshers introduction is a different thing but to hurt somebody is not right action.

You all students must take action against this injustice. I think your college strength will about 1000 students or above. All in one group can do much high work. One thing I want to make you clear If you are right then there is no power who could make you fall down.

Have Courage & Go Head... we all are with you.

megri...
that was a quick reply...just posted it a few mins ago...well the thing is, this institute i am talking of is a famous CMI institute in bangalore and as we all know, CMI fathers are a powerful bunch. i have the courage to take action or to walk upto him and ask him where is justice...but at the same time, wat i think i need to exhibit here is not courage, but intelligence. if i create a problem now, they might cause problems for my studies, my 3 years can be wasted but i think its better i wait and when its right opportunity, i need to take action. but its true, reacting capacity of most of us has weakened...i will narrate a simple incident(although not relating to this topic). when i was travelling in train to bangalore once, the person bringing food from the pantry car, placed the parcels on the ground near the toilet of one compartment, one old wobbly lady, stepped on the food and went off, the food was out, this guy bringing the food, repacked it and went on to give it to someone....i follwed his 8 compartments apart and saw him give it to an unsuspecting man, i objected on the spot and informed everyone in the compartment wat had happened and how carelessly this man has repacked such unhygenic food. but to my surprise, not one person in the compartment reacted to it...so i said to my self ''if they r not bothered bout wat they eat, y should i bother, i did my duty....now upto the.''
this is a small example...no matter wat wrong happens, people have learned to adjust to it....as they say in kannada ''swalpa adjust maadi'' :o

Nice to hear your courage story and appreciable that you followed that person upto 8 apartment. I agree with you totally. Sometimes We also close our eyes to see something wrong. But it depends on the situation & atmosphere.

As you have told about that hawker, it is totally wrong to sell unhygenic food. But if we see another phase of that person, He would be a poor person. Due to his poverty and to gain few rupees. He didn't want to waste that one pack. That's why he did so.

Waiting for right time donot you think that It will be too late. There is no meaning of action after settling everything. Whenever you will take action, they all for whom you want justice will be somewhere else.

Its the wastage of time and energy to hit the iron when it will cool.
