hello,
I will go in India in april with friends. my friends adopted 2 girls 8 years ago, and we will go in Kolkota and in Darjeeling to have informations about the girl's family.
could you recommend us hotels (not expansive but clean), where to go, where not to go (because too dangerous), how to travel there ( in Kolkota, between Kolkota and Darjeeling ...), what to see ? ...
are there some offices or temples where we could find informations about the children's family ?
every informations to help us for this travel would be welcome.
thank you.

Hello sylvie. You & your friends are doing great job. From which place you all belong? Where did you get these girls & How? If your friends adopted them once, Why they are now searching for their parents?
Any way, Your work is really appreciable.
To get information about hotels in darjeeling, you can view my post in following thread:

thank you for your replies.
to megrisoft : We're french. my friends adopted the littles girls through an organization of adoption. the girls was in the orphanage of Mother Tereza, in kolkota. they only want that the girls see their country of oringin, and if they want to search someone of their family, it's to know the story of their abandonment. it's important for the gilrs to know their story.
i'm sorry, i'm french, so I don't speak very good English language...
India1989,
I thank you very much for the informations you gave me. The Taj Bengal is too expansive for us. do you know something else ?
what is the best way to visit kolkota, bus, car with a driver ... ?
I notice all the place to visit you gave me.
