Hardware is the physical part of the computer including digital circuitry which we can see or touch. The main hardware parts of Computer systems are motherboard, CPU, power supply(SMPS), CD, Floppy and DVD drives, hard disks,storage controllers, display controllers, ROM, RAM, networking devices like LAN card, modem etc. The peripheral devices are monitors, mouses, speakers, joysticks, scanner, printers, microphones etc.
The different softwares execute within the hardware of the system and h/w does not frequently changed as compare to s/w.
Hardware is also used in embedded systems in automobiles, microwave ovens, electrocardiograph machines, compact disc players, and other devices. Personal computers, the computer hardware familiar to most people, form only a small minority of computers.
