26 JANUARY the independent republic of India (http://www.indiabook.com/india-information/republic-india.html) is officially born today, after nearly 100 years of British rule.

A public holiday has been declared throughout the country, and millions of people have been celebrating with processions and ceremonies to hoist the new flag of India for the first time.

So,it is great day for all of us,but the question here is:

Do we really remember those who gave their lives for the country?
OR

We just celebrate the day 26 Jan as a holiday?

Happy republic day.

I celebrate it because that was the day when we became republic and started functioning as a country.

Here is a question How did you celebrated Republic day (http://www.onlineindian.com/about250.html), as a Indian citizen remembered the sacrifices or just enjoyed whole day as a holiday.
