There is a new technology that has produced whats called the Cell Processor.
How does this differ from the more traditional processor?
What are the pros and cons of the Cell Processor?
Will our computers be better off or worse with it?
I need to know as I have put my last rupee on it.
Anyone?

I have personally never seen a cell processor but someone told be that it's a grouping of many little processors (probably 100 or more) that run in parallel. There is supposed to be some hardware controller that sychronizes the execution of code with the entire group. For example, you have a program that is made of 100 instructions and a cell processor that is composed of 100 units, what will happen is that each instruction will get sent to one unit for processing. So a cell processor can execute 100 instructions at once. If you add the fact that a traditional processor can execute 4 instructions at once at different stages than that means that a cell processor with 100 units will execute 400 instructions at once! That incredibly fast! Your rupees will be spared for this processor will be much cheaper than the traditional one and consume less power at the same time! There are many pros to having this kind of processor but no cons that I can think of.

This things are improving by leaps and bounds. Cell processors in XBOX 360 are also good. did you see the nintendo revolution. Those are real good and are developing by leaps and bounds.
