The India's fastest train

Indian Railway has started its fastest train from New Delhi to Agra.

The train covered the 199 km run between New Delhi and Agra in an hour and 56 minutes, reducing travel time by 15 minutes.

The train will run for six days at 150 km per hour. But on Fridays it will run only at a speed of 120 km on the entire 705-km route.

A super-fast WAP-5 locomotive will pull the train

The tracks on the Delhi-Agra line were fortified to withstand the high speed and fences had been raised at many points to avoid accidental intrusions.

15 minutes, ofcourse will be of little use to travellers, had it been one hour, tourists could have gained by staying longer at the Taj or taking a leisurely stroll instead of rushing back to catch the train. But this will ultimately pave the way for more such faster trains running on Indian tracks on long routes.

so 150km/hr is the fastest train. But i thought that this train already existed and ran at a speed of 160km/hr.

But good improvement. But is this completely Indian made or foriegn made.

This is completely made in India and running between New Delhi and Bhopal.
At least there is some improvement... it is not that significant but i am hoping that it will pave the way to faster improvements in indian railway... recently i read in paper reports about Indian Railway presenting a proposal about running skybusses in 9 Indian cities.

I heard about skybusses before. What are they actually. And are these Indian made or foreign.

What about Delhi metro. Is it Indian made or foreign.
Cause Kolkata metro is foreign made and it is of no use if even after 30 years India cannot make their own metro.

well you are right India 1989... the proposals of sky busses is submitted by Konkan Railway. I have gone through their site and i guess that they have their indigenous technology. You can also go and check their site if u like

Like are you sure that Delhi metro was Indian made?
that's good that skybusses have Indian technology but what about the Delhi metro. Please tell me that its Indian made.

I think right now the fastest train in India runs at a speed of 184km/hr.
