Well I can say as an American this probably isn't another "use and then throw away" case. Many Americans back India. Even radical conservatives like Michael Savage back India as an alternative great country.

But I advise India not to stop its creation of nuclear weapons, even though the deal wants them too. The more nuclear weapons the better India will be as a future superpower.
