The chinese are doing a lot to help their chinatown everywhere in the world while india ignore their own. The indian culture influence is not only in the indian ocear,south africa and malaysia, but its also in south america with surinam, guyana, trinidad and many carribean islands.

Yup lots of Indians are out there. ANd they are in good position now. ONe good example is VS Naipal who won the Nobel Prize.

That's simply great.

But its sad that Indian govt didnt' pay attention to them before but its wrong to say that we are ignoring them.

I think you are unaware of whats going on.

Recently All the Indians from not only those regions but also from AFrican regions were invited to India and were honoured. They can also be issued with a PIO card which can also allow them to buy property in India and come to India without a visa.

I am glad to know that indian government is not ignoring them.
Now, I think that India should take a grater role to protect Indian descents in those regions because Indians in the new world are too docile. Though Indians are a majority in Guyana and Surinam, they are low profile in politics, for decade our governments in Surinam and Guyana are controlled by African descent dictators and after democracy finally take effect; we still elect an African guy, because we are scare to take power. Indian seems to prefer business more than politics but in long-term this will lead to a disaster effect.
