As you already know, Human Resources Minister Arjun Singh recently announced the government's intention to increase the reservation in government-regulated education institutions like IITs and IIMs. The move is causing widespread unrest among students. If implemented, the new policy would take the overall reservation in the Central government-funded higher education institutions to 49.5% from the current 22.5%, for SC/ST students!!!
