Hi guys...Great effort..Keep it up.Would have appreciated if there were some community sections like one for Pashtoons/Pathans,which would not only increase your traffic and link populaity but would also provide a platform for visitors of these communities to share their problems.

I can offer any assitance in that reagard as I have already launched Pashtoon community site.

Ok he's talking about the Pathans. Indian pathans whom i lack knowledge about. Pathans are not found in the Norhteast. They are found more towards the west. All i can say is that right now there are very less amounts of Pathans left in India.

really that is interesting and sorry for the mistake. i would like to know why they are an endangered ethnic group? are they migrating or converting to other ehtnic groups or something.

Well history suggests that one cannot convert to different ethnic groups. Pathans are small in number because most of them migrate. Right now only 40,000 pathans are there in India. It could've been more had they not migrated to other places.

But this hujra guy never comes online anymore.

is it their way of showing their favour to pakistanis or is it because it is just the nearest and the best place in their option?

Pathans are originally from Afghanistan and Pakistan has a part of the earlier Afghanistan within itself in the form of the provinces of NWFP (North-West Frontier Province) , Balochistan (not sure) and Federally Administered Tribal Areas. So naturally there are many Pathans in Pakistan along with their homeland Afghanistan.

And interesting bit is NWFP and Balochistan were against the partition of India and infact voted to stay with India before 1947 :)

Partly you are right but most pathans in Pakistan are from Federally Administered Tribal areas. and miqsh they neither wanted to thank the pakis nor were this the best place to live. Some portion of this area was occupied by Pakistan from Afghanistan and some Pathans had immigrated from Afghanistan to flee the Talibans. They are not proud to be Pakistanis too. they are vying for a separate country for themselves which they call pakhtunistan.

Baluchistan wants to form a separate country too and so does Sindh.

Sindh originally wanted to be a part of India too along with NWFP and Baluchistan. What actual pakistan was the Punjab part which divided and the Bengal part. Bengal part later became Bangladesh.

Unity is what Pakistan lacks the most. That's one of the reason they have been ranked in the top ten failed lists.

The Pashtuns (also Pushtun, Pakhtun, Pashto: پښتون; Persian: پختون; Urdu: پشتون, or Pathan) or ethnic Afghans[8] are an ethno-linguistic group living primarily in eastern and southern Afghanistan and in the North West Frontier Province, Federally Administered Tribal Areas and Balochistan provinces of Pakistan. The Pashtuns are typically characterized by their language, adherence to Islam, and their pre-Islamic indigenous code of honor and culture Pashtunwali

Pathans are a ethnic group falling in the Caucasoid and Indo-Aryan racial groups. Their native lands are in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.

Many Indian actors are pathan including Shah Rukh Khan which he himself claimed.

Just like Egyptians are an ethnic group like that Pathans are one of the 3000 different ethnic groups in India.
