I think the decision of dismisal of Dr. venugopal is total wrong. And i think that if doctors and faculty members are going on strike to oppose this decision then they are totally right as they also have the right to oppose anything that is wrong.

Hello Neha,
Pleased to meet you.
I think the decision of dismisal of Dr. venugopal is total wrong. And i think that if doctors and faculty members are going on strike to oppose this decision then they are totally right as they also have the right to oppose anything that is wrong.
Have you gone to AIIMS lately?
Do you have any idea why this dismisal was done?
I ask this because, if you knew, you would have not said that the decision was wrong. Just my opinion.
Cheers

Kindly find following facts about AIIMS:
1. What is the retirement age for director? What is Dr. Venugopals age?
2. Is the funding being aptly utilised for the treatment of people?
3. Are All India AIIMS Examinations held fairly?
4. How many cases of misappropriation in AIIMS have been reported so far?
5. Since AIIMS is the best research centre for medicine in India, what is the achievement in the last some 50 years?
6. Is the doctor's approach towards the treatment in congruence with the latest techniques?
I have spent 5 long and frustrating years in AIIMS to get my father treated for lung cancer. I have seen it all myself at AIIMS.
I don't need to book return tickets for anybody. Just want the Indian system to change. At least for the people responsible at the top should be there for a good reason to start with.
Hope it would bring some clarity.
Cheers

Although it is fact that AIIMS is a mess, but I only want to say that Dr. Venugopal was not sacked for his lack of performance. He was sacked by the minister to favour his own person. I do not know how this will be a solution to the problems of AIIMS.
Our ministers have crossed the limits in poking the nose in non desirable material. You just can not blame it on Dr. Venugopal for the mess. The mess is the result of mismanagement which was there even before when the Dr. Venugopal was not there. You just can not make to wrongs to make it right.
Kindly remember, other institutes of medical sciences are not in the better position. It seems that govt. does not have any solution and it is just trying to get its favourite persons posted.

I agree with puneet here. Dr. Venugopal is not asked to leave the office because of any of the reasons you stated above. I understand what u must have gone through. But Dr. Venugopal was a part of the problem and not the entire problem. And he s not being removed to solve the problem.
Infact he s giving his voice to anti quota protests. And i think very rightfully he is doing so. And hes being sacked for that same reason.
And yes if something wrong happened to you. I hope you took every effort to bring about a change. I hope u didnt just complaint but took every man responsible to task. I hope u filed a case. I hope u met the higher officials. And submitted your complaints in writing and took acknowledgements for the same. And i hope u used the latest RTI act to find out what happened to your application. If u didnt do it, may be u can try it. It may sound like a stupendous task. But if u suffered for five years, may be a few more months. May be your efforts can bring in some fresh air into the organisation. You never know. (If you r frustrated make life miserable for those responsible at AIIMS and you have enough weapons to do it. You just need to think. If you are angry get evil.)
