1.For Management study IIM is best(4 Branches in main cities of India)
2.For simple Graduation choose any college of india(Prefer Punjab University
& college, Chandigarh Or Delhi university & college,Delhi).
3.For Computer studies IIT best college of India.

For IIM & IIT you have to pass the Entrance Exam(which is going to Difficult)

For IIT exam you should have non-medical Stream in 11 & 12 class.

For IIM exam You have to be Graduate in any stream.

College is affiliated to a University. One university can have numerous colleges under it e.g. Delhi University or Mumbai University.

We go to a "college" to earn a "university" degree. A college may offer specialised courses in one discipline for eg. engineering.

A university is responsible for more than one colleges offering possibly various disciplines.

India is a good destination for technical and medical studies. In fact this year's prestigious THES of UK has ranked Indian Institute of Technology which offers undergraduate and masters degrees in engineering and technology as the 3rd best in the world after MIT and Caltech.

Now, it depends on what your brother wants to graduate in. If engineering or science and he is really bright he may try for IIT. I don't know the process of admission of foreigners there but for Indians there is a ALL India entrance Exam every year which is very tough and aprrox only 1% of candidates who appear can make the grades to qualify.

Depending on ur brother's intellectual ability and field of interest he can find universities and colleges ranging from the top (IITs) to others just serving the purpose of offering degrees to mediocre students after toiling 3 years of books and exams which are for namesake.

If we are talking colleges that offer non-pro degrees, Loyola, Chennai, is the best bet.

What is the difference among the different IIT institutes? Can they be ranked or do they vary in their areas of expertise?
