He is unknown in India, but one of the most famous Indians in China. He came to China during the Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and served as a doctor, saving thousands of Chinese soldiers' lives. He had a son with a Chinese nurse, native of Dalian, in northeast China (Manchuria). They had a son named "YinHan" (which is a combination of Chinese characters for India and the Han Chinese people.
The Chinese government issued a special stamp in his honor in the 1980's. Last year, 200,000 Chinese visited his grave in Shijiazhuang, to pay homage to this great Indian. The Chinese are eternally in debt to this great man who helped fight against the inhuman Japs.

He is very famous in China. His chinese name is 'Kelihua'. I think more than 50% chinese know him as his name appeared in the chinese school textbook since 1949. For remember his deed, one medical college was named by using his name. The college's website is http://www.kdhyxy.com/ and his photograph is on the first page.
