Are Muslims really in deplorable condition?

We, Muslims also respect our motherland – India, then why we are treated as second class citizen? I was really shocked to read an article titled “All quiet on the Muslims front” (http://www.merinews.com/catFull.jsp?articleID=123408&catID=2&category=Nation&rtFlg=rtFlg) on merinews that we, Muslims still are struggling for existence in India.
According to author of this article “Sometimes I think it must be hard being a Muslim these days. Hemmed in from outside with all this ethnic and religious profiling, it must be a heart wrenching experience to be always under suspicion, to be always seen as being guilty.”
But I completely agree with what Javed Akhtar said in that article. Why should we sing Vande Mataram after RSS or someone’s instructions? No one decides any ones rights in this country as everyone has a right to live on their own terms provided they don't oppress the other.

Are we really in deplorable condition in India? If yes! Who is the responsible for this?

i think that there are some brainless fundamentalists in our country who aim at such trivial matters such as this. please ignore such people and the messages they go on about. please brother don't consider such articles seriously. i am a muslim indian. i have friends of other religion. i don't find such problems or such that they consider me inferior and stuff. take my advice there are good people belonging to all religion. not all want to see muslims or other religion suffer.

India is a mix of ethnicites, languages and religions. Sometimes some disagreements occur between people. But it's desirable that we all live in harmony and most Indians do that only. This may sound cheesy but it's in the back of every Indian's mind I am sure.

Mohammadasif can you tell everyone on this forum, which statement of Vandemataram is against your religion or against religion of Javed Akhtar (your brother by religion).

Uptill now whatever i had heard all freedom fighter of India those who were Hindu muslim Sikh etc. had sung this song.... Its puerly a National song....Its not a religious song.

Such type of attitude is not good for my nation.....

Vandematarn was national song from past hundred here .. i think Javed Akhtar song is not in list... so he cannot digest... See nothing is more important than mom... not even my family not god .....

In Quran it is been written "Islam made Paradise under the feet of mothers according to one tradition"... :)

I need Paradise & if I will serve my Mom I will be in Paradise as per Quran ....

So many questions have been raised about the condition of the muslims as such. You can not say that the minorities are specially backward in India. Look at Sikhs, Christians and other communities which have forged ahead to prosper. The problem is that in India a person is not a person, but a Hindu, a Muslim etc. I am specially referring to the 'secular' parties who have made this divide. When you are not willing to give equal rights to your own family members (I am talking of muslim ladies), how can you claim equal status from others. Remember for equality, there should be one law for one situation for all the communities for both genders. Prophet Mohammad was a great visionary who was ahead of his time, but alas Muslims have failed to catch his Ideas in spirit. Please remember that most of the cases are in the muslims in India now. Because, some people had claimed that the it is unislamic. Now please tell me if Prophet Mohammad wanted this? It is also mentioned in holy Quran that there is heaven under the feet of mother. How can saluting the mother is unislamic. Please note that there were fatwas issued asking muslims not to sing Vande Matram. The people who supported making it compulsory to sing appeared much later.
