Well I am sure you can more people than this though if you advertize, because there are many Indiaholics over the web. This one Japan forum I go to is bursting with posters, and I'm sure there are more people interested in India than tiny little Japan (well maybe).

We all our doing our best efforts since this is not at all for any business purpose.We have to spend alot of time on its maintenance as the spammers are a nuisance and now even hackers.So in order to make the forum more famous you all members should also do something since this is a forum for all the Indians and not something for selected people only.We are trying our best and we will keep on doing it but help is always appreciated.

1. Change the look and feel of the forums... what u have here is right out of the box vbulletin software. Add a attractive and appealing skin to the fourms. People will like to spend more time here if they like what they see.

2. you have 34 different forum Topics!! :eek:
Thats way too much especially when the memberbase is small.. many forums can be consolidated to make it look tight and more busy.
E.g - Indian Universities + Indian School & Colleges Forum = Education in India or something like that.
You can have more forums once the members start posting more and often.

3. Currently your website offers only forums...its will be a + + + for members if you offer some other information like news, articles, searches or listing to members besides the forums. This will add value to the website and give reason for everyone to come back here often.

4. Customise the forums software to make the forum look trendier - add more smilies, perhaps more avatars, customise code to make the display of information more cool. The people who visit the forum come here for an experience - not just to read and write messages. Add a chat box to the forums maybe...! :cool:

You have a nice setup here.....but its not only about content - its about how the content is displayed to look appealing. There are many many forums on the internet - many choices and u have to appeal to the visitors so that they drop by over and over again.

Well Vikram good to have your suggestions:-

We donot change the look that is we have not customised it much because of frequent security updates which need to be done on the forum to avoid hacking which is major issue these days.We have to keep a check at security all the time now a days because alot of attempts have been made to hack it already and on each update it becomes difficult to update a forum which is completly changed in design as you are saying.

Well as for topics some where increased on members demand and we are not increasing any more allthough I have some pending requests with me.

No we don't need members. I mean that not that many. We need active members. We need both quality and quantity. But quality is preffered first. IF we have 10000 users and only 5 of them are active then it won't help.

Check out the sports-india.com site. It is bursting with INdian posters. Maybe it will beat the Japanese posters. way too much posting going on over there.

although i am a "newbie" over here, i would sggest keep a check on the kind of posts that go over here...

especially in the forums of the Jobs In India

another thing I would suggest is that of the option of "PRIVATE MESSAGING" to enhance the communication among the members...

also as someone suggested this forum is super inactive...

the results of this forum comes on the 1st page of the google search
so i guess it should make the most out of it...

also see to it that this forum should be famous for something special
e.g. say jobs or indian life or education etc etc...

i guess moderator and other senior members would definitely work a way around.....

Why not change the skin a bit and add attracting Indian cultural symbols? I suggest replace that overall generic vbulletin symbol with a Hindu Om or Swastika sign.

That will help a lot as well ;).

As Per Marketing and Advertising... I can say that background of this forum is quite nice.... Text and the background of the page should be of opposite color... and best opposite color of each other are black & white..... the background of this forum is sky blue (pigeon color)… so black text are visible…

I think Sliverbackman suggestion is nice one & that can be consider

why not do this. Instead of making it a hindu om or swastika sign make it more multicultural representing all the people in India.

Like the khalsa sign, hindu om, muslim star symbol, christian cross, symbol of buddhism(like sun or something) find out for different religion like judaism, jainism, zorastrianism, bahai, ahmadi, sufism, ayyawazhi, tribal religions and etc.

please please do it.

and yeah please merge some of the similar threads.

well this is not technical forum ... people come here just to chill...
Programmers forum always contain lot of troubleshooting message ... which is useless for general discussion....Note all are not from IT back ground.. :) forum related to computer/software technical issue is totally different.

Well I will prefer good posting and sensible reply by every member on general topic of forum ...content and the discussion topic attract the general public to post their view/opinion on forum....

As a new member of this forum I find it really this forum really confusing.There are like 30+ forums.What you'll can do is convert the forums which are least visited into sub-forums.You also need a world affairs forum.Indian Military,World military and space technology forums.This would make people from other countries to participate in this forum and give some of the guys something to debate about.Also name of the mods should be written under each forum for the members to see.Increase the number of smilies.check out worldaffairsboard.com thats the kind of skin we need(It really looks classy). :)

I think we should post some quality threads. I can see lots of Shero Shayari and Antakshari now days in this forum, I am not against it but I think we must post at least 5+ posts in different sections here rather than posting in a same thread.
