Wal-Mart Stores, the $288 billion global retail chain, has urged India to open up its retail trade sector to foreign direct investment and said it is keen on setting up a chain of such stores in the country.
The wish list of the Arkansas-based retail chain giant was conveyed at a meeting between the group's international president John B. Menzer and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

I don't necessarily want Wall Mart to globalize India, but I think they will be able to sell cheap and great goods that even the poorer people can afford.

I have heard Americans in chat rooms saying that 80 % of the products WallMart sells there are made in China.
