Hi all,

I checked with www.PayPal.com, the preferred site of most US and UK customers for making their payments. For this site, you have to:

1. First register with an international credit card (VISA/MASTER/AMEX). An ordinary, desi, ATM card won't do.
2. The money after being received in your PayPal account, is then sent to you via cheque.

I was wondering if anybody could enlighten me on the following:
1. The denomination (currency) in which they send the cheque in (whether USD, GBP, or INR)
2. How many days it takes for the money to clear (PayPal is based in the US).
3. How much amount is normally deducted by the bank as their clearing charges in such cases. (For non-local cheques, bank charges can be anywhere from INR 50 to INR 500, imo.)

Thanks in advance,

Sanjay.

Hi again,

Okay; I got the answer to my query #1:
Yes, the cheque is made out in INR. Also, the minimum amount that can be withdrawn in one go is USD 150.

So, the facts are clear. Now, only the experiences remain to be shared ... Anyone?
