Scientists at semiconductor company Infineon said that it has built the world's smallest Flash memory cell. Measuring just 20 nm, the cell is about 5000 times thinner than a human hair.

Science is making things come in more smaller and smaller packages with big capacities

Yes,nanotechnology is arriving.
Small is beautiful and the most beautiful of all must surely be what is so small that you can hardly see it.
Beauty is weird,no?

Well now we can say that all big things come in small and smaller packages.

I Berber "nano" means donkey. I could never figure out why anyone would use such a word in science. I've see little Pacman robots that are almost as small as viruses and they eat viruses and fat. In the future someone (not me) wants to inject them in people's arteries in order to eliminate hard desease. But you guys don't have to worry about that since Indians are mostly vegetarian at least the ones I know and all of my family members.

talking about nano technology, it has its own set of probs...

a few months ago, there was an article in one of the top comp journals saying, nano goodies, say eg, chips etc etc would also be affected by insects, bugs and those bacterial and fungus infections...

also another limitation is about the temperature working conditions... no extreme hot or cold temperatures...

further it stated that if the nano stuff gets damaged it would not be easily repaired and would be advisable to throw away and get a new one...

so it concluded saying nano would really not be accepted that easily...
